In 1967- Harold and Mary Bishop founded the Bishop Tool Company. A prototype machine shop dedicated to precision and quality. Diverse customers such as Gates Rubber Company, Information Handling services, Cobe Laboratories relied on Bishop Tool for quality machining and tooling.

In 1974 - Harold and Mary employed Martyn Sutton as a tool maker and designer. Martyn graduated from Triton College in River Grove, IL. in 1969. Martyn got his experience in tool making and tool design while working in the Chicago area for Cox Automation, Inc.

In 1976 - Harold and Mary employed Martyn's brother Kevin and their father Aubrey Sutton. Kevin graduated from Warren Occupation Technology Center and got his experience as a machinist at Sunstrand in Denver, CO.

In 1979 - Harold and Mary retired from ownership and sold Bishop Tool to Martyn, Kevin and Aubrey Sutton. Bishop Tool was then incorporated as Mountain States Automation, Inc.

In 1989- Mountain States Automation, Inc. relocated all operations to their present facility of 10,000 square feet located on 43,000 square feet of land in Englewood, CO.

In 1993- Mountain States Automation, Inc. acquired an additional 10,000 square foot building, located 3 blocks from their main facility.

Since 1967- our machining capabilities and design experiences have compounded. Pride in prototype and development work has lead MSA to become a world class special automated machine builder. For over thirty years we have emphasized trust, quality and teamwork.
